All-conquering Higham FC Under 15s are celebrating doing ‘The Double’ after storming to the Tamworth League title as well as being victorious in the Invitation Cup competition.

The triumphant team went through the whole 2020/21 season unbeaten, with 14 wins and two draws in the league and boasting a perfect Cup run which finished with a 3-1 victory over rivals St Nicolas U15s.

What’s more the successful double winners have impressively replicated the ethos of sponsors Springbourne Homes showing that they too are an outstanding team full of quality and style.

Manager Sharon Hilton said: “I am delighted with the lads and this season of success is a fitting reward for all their hard work in training and brilliant performances on the pitch.

“The Covid 19 pandemic has made this the toughest season ever but the squad has risen to the challenge and been outstanding from start to finish.

“I’d also like to thank my assistant coaches, Lee Marston and Liam Hilton, for all their support and efforts throughout the campaign to make this a season to remember.”

Springbourne chairman Adrian Burr is equally impressed with the team’s success and also paid tribute to manager Sharon for her heroics since taking charge in 2017.

Adrian said: “When Sharon took charge of the team four years ago they were languishing in League 3 and now they’ve just won League 1 and lifted the Cup. It’s an outstanding achievement and just like Springbourne, she’s proved herself to be the best in the business!”
